Icon in button bar for filtered view

I want to set up separate icons in the button bar to filter different views: word files (show only doc and docx files), excel files, jpg, pdf, etc.

I thought of custom columns and then to use cm_SrcCustomView but there I can't seem to find a way to set a filter, so I guess it's the wrong way to do it.
How can I do that please?

You can use the "cd" command, e.g.
cd *.doc *.docx *.xls *.xlsx
or
cd c:\my documents\*.doc *.docx
