Filter FTP file transfer

Post by *r0k »

Hello. Is it possible to filter files to transfer over FTP? I've found threads explaining it wasn't but they are from 2005 so maybe things have changed.

I would like, to transfer, while keeping the tree structure, only music files (mp3, ogg, ...) to my NAS and not other "junk" i have in the folders. If i use a filter view and select to show all files from subfolders, i can select the music files but the tree is not preserved.
If i select my music folder, the tree is preserved but i can't filter.

I could try and use a temporary folder, but that's a LOT of temporary space on my hard disk.

I have TC 64 on win 7 home premium.

Browse to the FTP folder in the left panel.
Browse to the local destination folder in the right panel.
Select menu option Commands/Synchronize dirs.
Enter filter at the top middle, between source and destination folder (for example: *.mp3 *.ogg).
Mark Asymmetric as checked.
Mark Subdirs as checked.
Click Compare button.
Click Synchronize button.
Click OK button.

Thanks, it worked.
I was trying using the simple "F5" copy.
Unfortunately, it seems i can't do background transfer with sync.

No, but there is a workaround. You can start another instance of Total Commander with command line parameter /S=S.
