It must be something in that list which is only installed on that Packard Bell computer...

Yes peculiar indeed. I guess some change must have been made to the registry, that is not reversed when uninstalling.

I bring this up again, since I still have the problem, and it is highly annoying when I accidently pass the cursor over the virtual folders triangle in the breadcrumb bar, because TC is then not reacting for the next minute or so.

When the virtual folders breadcrumb menu finally comes up, it is often also difficult to close it down again - just moving the cursor away mostly doesn't make the menu dissappear right away. In these occasions Task Manager shows that PathSelForm is running. I tried killing that process with Task Manager and then I got this Windows error message:
Problemsignatur:
Navn på problemhændelse: AppHangB1

Maybe this can give you a clue to what the problem is with the virtual folders breadcrumb menu on my machine?

Sorry, still no idea what's wrong with your computer. Just turn off the breadcrumb bar, or at least the automatic opening of it.

I just noticed that breadcrumbs now work OK with version 8.01RC3 on my Windows 7 x64 laptop that have had the afore-mentioned problems with breadcrumbs.

I went backwards in versions and the problem seem to be fixed since TC 8.01RC1 (32bit and 64bit). If I go further back the problem is still the same as previously described (same wincmd.ini etc.)

Do you have any idea what you have changed in TC 8.01RC1 that could have caused this (very welcome for me) change ? :D

It was probably a problem with thread synchronization. I had to add a sleep() command outside a EnterCriticalSection call, otherwise the other thread couldn't access the results for some time. Strangely I only had that problem on Windows 8 consumer preview.

Thread synchronization - that would explain, why I saw this bug mostly in virtual machines. Anyway, I just hope it won't reappear again. Thanks.

Ah, that makes sense, I also used a virtual machine when testing Windows 8...
