autocomplete by ANY part of folder name in F5/F6 Copy dialog

Post by *leopoldus »

In F5/F6/Shift+F5 dialogs autocomplete function suggests folders names in the current pane, filtering them by first symbols of the name entered by a user. Is there any option to get a suggestion for folders, in which name any part anf not only the the beginning matches a filter entered by a user? Say entering symbols "mand" I'd get suggested not only the folder with name "Mandatory", but the folder with name "comMANDer" as well.
I've tried to use asterisk "*mand*", but it does not work :(

No, unfortunately not, Windows auto-complete doesn't work like that.

It's a pity... But Popup Directory Tree (Alt+F10) does work this way (with asterisk as a prefix). Isn't it possible to use the same engine to search available folders names in file copy/move dialogs?

With Windows auto-complete, I just pass the complete list of names to Windows, and Windows does the matching...
