how to search for a file with partial wild card on directory

Post by *graham_k »

I have a huge data partition and a subdirectory where I make regular backups (daily x 7/weekly x52/monthly x12).

Somewhere in there is a doc called <something>install<something> which is in the backups somewhere in a directory *part* of who's name is abc, but I don't know at what level of sub-directory it is

So, I want to search for *abc*install*.*

Can I do that somehow? Searching for *install*.* throws up far too many false hits.

Search for "install" and on the Plugins tab create the rule: tc path contains abc

Or use Voidtools' "(Search) Everything".
Instantaneous.

Also, white, you have to wonder what the method you cite has to do with 'Plugins'.
I'd have hoped it'd be in the basic TC search capability. So much like DOS.
