Total Cmd freezes after pluging in external HDD.

Post by *K1ller »

Hello, I have just encountered a problem with TC 7.50 (and 7.04). After plugging in either of my two external HDDs and switching to them, TC freezes or it takes too long to load files in directories. I have never had this problem before. When I use Win explorer, all works fine. I would really appreciate any help. I have Win 7 Ultimate 64bit. Thanks.

EDIT: It seem upgrading Avast to version 7 is the problem. Any ideas how to overcome this without unistalling Avast?

It seems that Avast is crashing when TC tries to determine whether a harddisk is USB or not. Solution: Turn off this check:

Please add the following string to the file wincmd.ini, section [Configuration]:
CheckUsbHdd=0

Thanks, I tried that. Well it decreased the time of the freeze but is still present.
