Network Drives Are Empty. TC 8.01

Post by *zgwstores »

Win 7
TC 8.01
Buffalo NAS Drive
Not an Issue with TC 7.57

Although I get a drive letter for my NAS drive( A: ) in TC, the directory list is empty. I do a CD and TC navigates to the changed directory but only lists a small fraction of the files/directories actually on the drive.

I did not have this issue with 7.57.

I have uploaded a screen shot of what I hope is pertinent information:

It may be a 64-bit problem - try using TC 8.01 32-bit instead.

NAS Drive (Buffalo 1TB) Not Showing Folders and Files

Post by *zgwstores »

Situation:

Win 7 64 bit
Buffalo CE1dot0TLU2 NAS Drive 1TB
Windows Explorer displays all files/folders on the drive.
TC 7.57 did display all files/folders
Updated to TC 8.01 64 Bit
TC 8.01 64 Bit does not display most files/folders

Per prior suggestion, I:

1. Uninstalled TC 8.01 64 Bit.
2. Installed TC 8.01 32 Bit.
3. Result- Does Not Display
4. Uninstalled TC 8.02 32 Bit.

Then I went further:

5. Installed TC 7.57
6. Result- Does Not Display

So. 7.57 did display, but does not now.

Looks to me like I need a kick start. But don't know where to look.

Dear Sir,

Your suggestion:

Configuration
Options
Display
SHOW HIDDEN/SYSTEM FILES

worked wonderfully. I do not understand why all of these files are hidden, but that is not your issue.

You have no idea how happy I am to use your product(29 more days to go). I hope you are enjoying life to the fullest extent.

Did you use any tool to assign custom icons to these folders? Some tools set the "hidden" or "system" attribute to make the explorer show the folder icons.

Hidden File Folders

Post by *zgwstores »

In response to:

"Did you use any tool to assign custom icons to these folders? Some tools set the "hidden" or "system" attribute to make the explorer show the folder icons."

the answer is:

If I did, it was not intentional. If you asked me to assign a custom icon to a folder, I would have no idea how to do it. The icons appear normal to me.

I do recall a nasty virus that I picked up that set everything to hidden. I thought I had changed the attributes on the folder and file with a malwarebytes tool. But it appears I missed my network drive.

Cheers...you are into cheers I hope. Don't know how programmers would survive without a relaxing brew.
