how to open a list of searched folders without lost list ?

Post by *Michael REMY »

hi !

i use total commander 7 under win7.

i have a massive folder in a disk, and i am in the left view.
i do a search like "hindi" to find all the folders with hindi in the title
when i get my list, i double-click on the first element folder and open it to do what i have to do...
but when i use back button action, total commander take me to the root disk and not the the previous searched list results.

is there a way to open a folder not in the left list , but in the right list ? so i could still have my list of search folder in the left, and the browsing content in the right.

thank for help

best regards.

What is "back button action"?
Try the following (I am not sure it is what you want):
1) Find folders you need;
2) Press "Feed to listbox" (suppose it is left panel);
3) Point the cursor to the folder of interest and press Ctrl+Right;
4) This folder is opened in the right panel;
5) Then you can repeat steps 3-4 as many times as you wish.

Hi,

Alternatively you could use Ctrl-S to filter your left panel view, enter in one of the filtered folders, do things there and use the back button.
Indeed is now the whole folder content visible again, but by using shift-ctrl-S your previously used filter is active again.

HTH,

Good one, Vochomurka!

I just experimented: the Ctrl-Right also works in combination with Ctrl-S, but you have to use Esc once before to close the filter dialog again.

I've just learned a feature.
Thanks.
