Where is cfg file of TC?
I made backup of C: and reinstalled Win 7 x64. Now i installed x64 the latest ver. of TC and start to looking for cfg file of older TC ver. First i thought it is wincmd.ini, when i c/p to installed folder nothing happened when i ran again TC. Now i search and search and can't find nothing what can it back my configuration...
------
I made mistake. When i installed a new TC i selected .ini file to be in installation folder but the previous ver was in c:\user\... but still something does not good. Does ini file from 7.58 is compatible with v8.01? The 7.58 was x86 ver. v8.01 i use x64.
I do not have menu here

Maybe you should have a look at Help/About (at bottom) where your ini-files are located.

Code: Select all
e-mail: support_at_ghisler.com
INI-Files:
C:\USERS\Theos\TOTALCMD\WINCMD.INI
C:\USERS\Theos\TOTALCMD\WCX_FTP.INI

OK

that is for installed ver. The older one was in c:\Users\name\AppData\Roaming\GHISLER\
i copied all from there to installed folder and did not back the old configuration except setting from options. Why i do not have menu with icons (look picture above)?
btw x64 delete very slow.

Rocky III,
Did you use TC to copy the older ini files to the installation folder? That will not work, since after closing TC the existing ini files will be overwritten again with the in-memory configuration, which is the newer version with missing items. So for this specific copy action you should use explorer or some portable TC from a stick or a cmd window.
On your second remark: search the forum for Vistadelete for the optimal settings for quick deletion.

Nope. I'm still running TC 8.01 32 bits, so I can use the same (portable) installation across all my systems. Also Ghisler himself has stated there is no real advantage (yet) for using the x64 version. This might change in the future of course.Rocky III wrote:did i get anything better or faster with x64 ver?

Rocky III,
What file do you mean? Internal commands are added to buttonbar via command browser, external programs - via dragging or choosing/typing path to them.
If you're talking about buttonbar (panel with buttons under menu bar), open Configuration - Button Bar menu item and configure it. Edit buttonbar dialog contains icon path field for every button so if you have empty buttons, you simply need to fix path to icon.
Also you can use UseIniInProgramDir=7 key in Configuration section of wincmd.ini in TC dir to tell to TC that wincmd.ini is always in its directory.

I meant is there any .ini file which is in charge for custom changes on buttonbar? Just to c/p my custom buttons and they to appear in buttonbar. Because i had 5,6 commands there and i forgot which is which.
It is already how you wrote it.Also you can use UseIniInProgramDir=7 key in Configuration section of wincmd.ini in TC dir to tell to TC that wincmd.ini is always in its directory.
