Drives Not Showing Up

Post by *DogNo1 »

I just installed ver 8.01 but it did not solve the problem that I've been having for a while: drives not showing up in TC. They appear in My Computer but are not recognized by TC. I am running Windows 7 64X and installed the 64-32 bit version of TC 8.01. Any help in solving this problem will be much appreciated.

Try this:
Click "Commands" -> "Open Desktop Folder" and then go into the "Computer" folder - maybe you can see your drives there.

They appear in My Computer
Do you mean drives without assigned letter?

Just open "My Computer" at TC by one of :

- Use "cm_OpenDrives" at TC commandline or a created button
- Use Menu "Commands - Open desktop folder - Computer"
- Select the tiny triangle leftmost at the breadcrumb bar and choose "Computer"

Or select "Configuration" -> "Options..." -> "Display" -> "Show parent dir [--] also in root of drive" - and then double click on [..] in the root of any drive.

Or make a Button, User command, Directory hotlist item or a Start menu item that has this command:
CD ::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

Thanks for all of the prompt and helpful replies. :) Stupid me! The USB-connected drives are still appearing but now their icons have changed, showing them as removable drives. Before the icons didn't have the little green arrows in front of them. I guess this is a new feature of Ver. 8.01.

Yes, 8.01 can now detect external harddrives too! If you don't want that, you can add the following line to wincmd.ini, to the [Configuration] section:
CheckUsbHdd=0
