Multiple Directory Menus?
Moderators: Hacker, petermad, Stefan2, white
(1) When one invokes the command for the Directory-List, the menu shows always up at the hardcoded place. What I mean is: When you call the directorylist from the upper right, -mainmenu or Buttonbar-, the menu will popup somewhere in the middle of the screen. That could be considered as a bug.
(2) And there is a 2nd TC-setting that invokes the directory list at the place where the mouse pointer actually is. Both cases appears to be strange behaviour. . .and are like examples of half-hearted work. If this behaviour will be changed, this command could be used more effectively like in your suggestions.
Here is a suggestion about to use multiple directory-menus on the drive-icons:

(And I would also like to see multiple history lists per drive)

I would also like to support the suggestion: "Show our drop-down menus via hotkey?"MVV wrote:Do you mean that we can show our drop-down menus via hotkey?ts4242 wrote:It is possible by creating an extended command-> assign hotkey for it-> use it in any sub-bar.

Wasn't the question about where to show the buttonbar-menu if a new command OpenBarAsMenu was invoked via hotkey?
I don't see any real advantage to invoke this new command from a button (this could be done easier: "cmd: Barfile.bar & [x] show as menu") or from a menu entry (instead of a submenu...):?
And yes, most buttons do have a relationship to the source panel.
cd .. , exe-file file with empty start path, %P%S-parameter, navigation-, file operations-, selecting-, ... commands, ...
Anyway, TC could detect how this command was invoked and select a adequate place:
- Hotkey: Top left of the source panel
- Button: Center point of the button
- Menu entry: Top left or center of the menu bar
- Commandline: On the bottom line of the TC window
- AHK: System tray
...

The title of this topic says differently.HolgerK wrote:Wasn't the question about where to show the buttonbar-menu if a new command OpenBarAsMenu was invoked via hotkey?

My idea of Multiple Directory Menus is "per drive".
Your idea seems to be to use a (TC-native) drop down-button menu and a configurable shortcut for it.
Did I get the question right - you are looking now for the right place for this menu ?

Btw I liked that small hint with AUTOHOTKEY but I doubt that this will attract more customers.
