Connect PC to laptop

Post by *Andre Linoge »

Goodday

I like to connect my PC to my laptop. In doing so i use "Port connection to other PC'. As a result i get an errormessage "Coldt not connect to pc driver".
Secondly i also use "Trust NB-7500p USB 2.0 Data Transfer Cable" to achive this, both options dont work.

On both computers i use Windows XP with servicepack 2
Can somebody tell me, pleas what i can do to overcome this problem??

TIA

You cannot use any cable, it has to be a cable for Microsoft's Easy transfer software. Why? This is the only cable for which there is a documented programming interface. All other cables either emulate a local area network (Good, just map a network share), or come with their own transfer software (closed source, bad).

Here is a list of supported cables:

The Belkin cables are quire common and easy to find, e.g. on Amazon.
