TC behaves like this. Is it right or not?

Post by *Adams »

For example:

TC was showing a directory containing different kind of files such as rar, pdf, jpg.

By Pressing Num +, inputting *.pdf, all pdf files in this directory were selected.

Choosing from menu “Show” -> “Only Selected Files”, only all the pdf files were shown.

Then clicked some other window, or just clicked background to make TC window inactive. Then clicked anywhere on the TC window to make it active again. By doing this, the selected pdf files would be deselected, and all the files in this directory would be shown.

About this deselecting selected files and showing all files automatically, is this the right or desired behavior? Or a bug?

It is a panel refresh on external folder change.

However it is strange that TC refreshes panel when WatchDirs INI option is disabled.

WatchDirs controls the refresh while TC remains in the foreground (or background) and receives a change notification from the file system. The upper part of the Refresh settings control the refresh which happens when a file operation completes, or TC gets the focus.

Another example.

Like what I did above, by Pressing Num +, inputting *.pdf, all pdf files in this directory were selected.

Choosing from menu “Show” -> “Only Selected Files”, then press Ctrl Num -. By this step, all pdf files in the current dir were shown, but unselected.

If I do one of the following:
1. delete one of the pdf files in this dir
or
2. copy another pdf file from the other panel to this folder

then all files and folders within this dir would be shown. Just like running "show all".

I guess this "show all" is an unexpected behavior. After deleting or copying a pdf file, it should still show only the pdfs, shouldn't it?
