File collections

Post by *plavo »

Just a quickie, can we create file collections with total?

File collections, like virtual folders who can organize files from different drives to one place?

And second question, when i create a shortcut to program in button-bar, could it just display its name instead of icon, i dont mean blank field but name?

1. Try VirtualPanel plugin.
2. You can't display text instead of buttonbar icon.

You can do this within Windows itself by using NTFS junction points (a folder that points to another folder).

To create them, you'll need to use third party software - I've found Link Shell Extension at schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/hardlinkshellext.html (can't post URLs yet, sorry) to be the most comprehensive tool for this.

plavo,
If you need to go level up, use Backspace. If you go back in history, TC doesn't remember cursor position, sorry.

HighDiver,
Junctions won't allow you to have files from multiple folders in one folder. Also they won't allow to take only particular files from junction target folder.

BTW, here a junction creation tool that may be integrated with TC.
