I'm always using right-button selection mode (default mode, may be changed in configuration) since DOS managers like Norton Commander. And in this mode it is necessary to hold Shift before dragging. Left-button selection mode have much less features, e.g. you can't select/deselect files by just clicking mouse button or by moving mouse above files while holding its button, also it resets when you click onto some file.

Only if you are using left mouse button selection mode, as MVV pointed out.

yeah we were using different settings, but i switched to your setting now as it seems better after you know all the extra features
