Thanks to Christian for making TC!

Post by *JohnTC »

Christian,

I dropped by the forum today just to see if there happened to be a new update to TC, or news of a new version. No joy.

But . . . there isn't actually anything I want to see fixed.

I'm really glad to hear that support for Win8 tablets is in the works. If I ever get one, TC will be my first install.

I've used TC for a long time. A really, really long time. At least 15 years. Longer, I think.

I have a customized layout that I've used on a dozen different computers. I don't mean just computers that I've used, I mean, my main computer. The one you pound all day for years until the keys start to get shiny.

My TC fits me like a glove. Default TC seems just *wrong* to me. Like when you get in your car and someone has adjusted the seat. I use custom icons, custom keystrokes, custom everything. I don't really even know exactly *what* I've customized over the years.

I *still* find new a really cool things. A few weeks ago I had need for REs in the multi-rename tool. Now, I use Multi-Rename *all the time*. I've used it for years. But never needed REs in it. But then I did. Wow. What an amazing feature. I guess I would have written a script to accomplish that particular task, but I didn't have to.

Stuff like that happens to me all the time.

It is just really an amazing program.

You might be wondering the point of this post. Here's the point.

Thanks Christian.

Yes, Christian, thanks! I can't touch a computer without TC on it - my version.

(I think I still have a floppy with 3.02 on it somewhere...)

You can't really understand how useful TC is until you get a PC without it. :D

I'm slowly getting to the end of my list of new features I want to add, so I hope that I can soon start with the public beta test. Unfortunately there is still a long list of bug reports which I need to check before I can start with the public test...
