set permissions recursively with TC?

Post by *flyingdutchman »

Hi,

Can I set permissions to files & folders recursively with TC?
If there's a way to do it by commandline (chmod ...) can anyone hand me a URL to a tutorial how to do it (connect, login, move to specified topdir)

Greetz,
Arthur

Only if the server supports this.

Hi Flint, thnx for answering,

So, if the server allows for it, it could be done.
Consider me a dummy on console communication.
I've found the console button in TC. Now how do I connect....
Googled for "connect webserver dosbox", found no workable results.

Pls drop a hint as to how I connect to my webspace, direct to the topdir to be changed in permissions and do a chmod recursively, ALL THIS BY COMMAND LINE ...

Greetings,
Arthur

You don't need to open console for this. Just type the command in the command line of the TC itself (the one located at the bottom of the main TC window), and this command will be sent to the FTP server and executed by it, with the output displayed in a pop-up dialog.
