Creating checksums in subfolders

Post by *wanderer »

Imagine a case where you have the following folder structure:

Code: Select all

CDs
  CD1
  CD2
Press CTRL+B in "CDs", you see all files in the subfolders. If you select all files and create checksums with the "create separate SFV files for each file" option, they will be created under "CDs". That's OK but it would be great if there was a checkbox to "not store paths in the generated SFV files". If you decide to move the generated SFV files under CD1 and CD2 (in order for instance to burn the contents of each folder in CDs - just the contents, without the folder), then the verification will fail.

A remotely related discussion took place in this thread several years ago but until today, nothing has changed in this dialog though. This one seems relatively simple, i hope it can be added to TC in an upcoming version.

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3 (very rarely nowadays).
x64: Clients/Servers - Win10/Win11 and Win2K16 to Win2K22, mainly Win10 though.

It could be difficult, you can have different files with same names on both folders and without it's path there's no way to tell of which file checksum is.
