Go to last folder on back?

Post by *FearlessSpiff »

Hi

Am I missing something or is this not implemented: When going back from a folder I'm always on top of the list of folders? Is this normal behavior? To be clear: When I have a list of folders from a-b-...-z and I enter folder 'z' and go back, I see 'a' as first entry. I would think, that the view should be the same as when entering z.

Thanks.

It's pretty annoying when I'm browsing a folder with lots of sub folders.

I logged in today to ask the same question, actually.

Or, a workaround for browsing a long folder list:

Can we do something like "open dir under cursor in other window".

Because right now, while I'm on a long folder list, I enter the folder to see its contents, when I go to the parent directory, I'm back to the top of the list :(

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Hmmmm. Just installed the 2.02beta but it is still not working in the LAN-Plugin?!? Also the Back-Button doesn't work every time. Maybe that's just a plugin problem?

I may have spoken too soon. Tried using it with the LAN-Plugin and I still get the same issue by the OP.

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce it any more with the new version 2.02. How exactly do you get to the folder before going up one level?

ok here's a funny thing.

it works when my phone is on landscape, but not when I'm on portrait.

Portrait

1. I am browsing the "C:\Program files" of my laptop using the LAN Plugin

2. I scroll down to the bottom of the folder

3. And enter "the Windows NT" subfolder.

4. From "Windows NT" folder, I click the Up arrow.

I am back to "C:\Program files" at the top of the list.

On Landscape

1. Ok, same thing as above but on landscape.

2. I scroll down again to the lower/bottom of the folder

3. I go inside "Windows NT" subfolder

Image: http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/7346/land03.png

4. I press the up/parent button and I am back to "C:\Program files". But I am still at the bottom of the folder, the desired result

Unfortunately it doesn't happen in portrait mode either, neither on my phone nor on my Nexus 7. :(

Pardon the late reply.

There's no other way I can reproduce it, Mr. Ghisler. It still happens, actually.

I will post back if I find out anything.

Thanks for looking into it. :)
