Selecting Files with same name but different last number?

Post by *thomparc »

Could you please advise how I would select and filter files with the same name but the highest last number is different which is used as a Rev No as per example:

CL-4853-E-00001_R1.pdf
CL-4853-E-00001_R2.pdf
CL-4853-E-00001_R3.pdf
CL-4853-E-00001_R4.pdf
CL-4853-E-00001_R5.pdf
CL-4853-E-00001_R6.pdf

I would like to select for example file CL-4853-E-00001 with the highest R% number.

This would apply to all file numbers with the highest R% number.

Appreciate your help on this matter, thank you

i'm not sure wether this can technically help you.

I asked fore something similar (jump to the last version folder in a subfolder) and it works now.

I dont have time to try it out for you apparently, maybe end of the week :)
