Allow easy opening of default (no file) context menu

Post by *Sonny »

I find that opening the default/"no file" context menu (what's this thing named anyway?) in Total Commander can be rather difficult. Opening the context menu in situations where enough files and folders are present to fill the screen can become nearly impossible. There simply isn't enough space to right-click below the last file, which is the only method I know in Total Commander.

Shortcuts such as the context menu key on keyboard and Shift+F10 always seem to open the context menu of a file, which does not contain all options (I often need the "New File" menu).

A workaround I have found is to temporarily switch to Thumbnail view which allows the user to scroll all the way down and right-click on a piece of empty space for the "no file" context menu.

My suggestion would be to have an option to behave as Windows Explorer. E.g. right-clicking anywhere but on a file name is enough to open the default context menu, and only open the file-specific context menu when clicking on a file name.

Thanks! That really helps, this one's new for me and much better than my current workaround.
