Increase font size on main panel

Post by *bloodlust8 »

Could you please add (Ctrl++) or (Ctrl+-) to the main directory listing so that it increase/decreases the size of the font like in WaterFox.

Since vista 2 came along you can not change the fonts under Configuration>fonts (and yes I am in admin mode).

This will be incredibly usefull especially since I'm working at various distances from my screen.

This means that your account has admin rights and you have turned off the UAC, or did you start TC "as administrator"?

Where is the location of your INI-Files (Help ->About)?
Even in Vista -1 and -2 the access rights for these files must allow write access.

My ini is in the total commander dir (for portability) and I am running admin mode.

"......This means that your account has admin rights and you have turned off the UAC, ......."

I see, another vista feature, you turn of the useless uac then you can't do another bunch of things again. Brilliant.

So i take it I have to find a work around for another work around again. oh vista 2, the wasted click OS.

Thanx HolgerK :)

Its still would be great to have that short cut in the main panel...

Just do not install TC inside %ProgramFiles%, and you are fine.

Nice suggestion but the suggested hotkeys are already in use for "select all" and "remove the selection".
Two commands to in(de)crease an additional OverrideDPI(for the filelist), which would also scale the size of the thumbnails and icons, would be better.

Relative version to Windows Vista:
- Windows 2000 = Vista-2
- Windows XP = Vista-1
- Windows Vista
- Windows 7 = Vista 2
- Windows 8 = Vista 3
Not really useful but confusing... :?

Indeed very confusing. I thought he was referring to Windows 8 because there has been so much complaining about that version, as was when Vista came. Windows 7 is really a good operationg system (to me).

Bloodlust8 should use actual windows version names because this vista2 name is very confusing also in the other threads he has opened.

I was thinking the exact same thing, Henrie.

HolgerK, thanks for the clarifications :D

My total commander dir is located in C:\Wincmd or the root of any other drive.

Well, it doesn't have to be Ctrl+ or ctrl -. If the function could be created and added to the key command list so that we can just assign our own key commond to it.

This feature will be total killer as I keep changing position from my screen and sometimes its difficult to read and whats worse is that vista 2 can't do a simple thing as changing a font without finding a work around for a work around.

I really do not see this as a problem because Vista 2 does not exist. So your quest is purely hypothetical.

Okay, and your wincmd.ini inside \Wincmd has a an entry like

Code: Select all

UseIniInProgramDir=7
and you do have adequate access rights for this file?

BTW: Could you please stop to use this "Vista 2" wording.
May be you are not so excited by Vista or Windows 7, but as long as you want to get help here in the forum, an exact descriptions of your problem and environment is needed.

If you have complains about the operating systems from Microsoft, please leave your comments here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows

Thanks
Holger
