tcmadm64.exe: Error executing program

Post by *torhu »

I've set up a new PC, with Windows 7 64-bit. TC 64-bit (only) is installed into C:\Program Files (x86)\totalcmd.

When I try to copy files into the C:\Program Files (x86) folder, and when I try to install TC plugins, I get errors.

I first get asked to provide admin permission, to type login name and password. Which I do. The I get this error message:
Error executing program!
"C:\Program Files (x86)\totalcmd\tcmadm64.exe" 7040 Tor3\Tor
I can do the same operations with Explorer without any issues.

It means that Total Commander could not find the tool tcmdadm64.exe needed for admin rights, or could not launch it because of a missing certificate. What error do you get when you double click that program?

I get "This program is internal to Total Commander. Do not call it directly!" After I click Ok in the UAC prompt.

Strange, so you could actually start it. I have no idea why starting it internally would fail, sorry. I can only recommend that you reinstall TC to the officially supported location c:\totalcmd
