Multi-rename with dates renames only one file

Post by *zocha »

Hi,

I've encountered a problem when I was trying to rename list of files using Multi-rename tool.

List of files:
2013_07_16_Backend_translations_CZ.xls
2013_07_16_Backend_translations_DK_EN.xls
2013_07_16_Backend_translations_PL.xls
2013_07_16_Frontend_translations_CZ.xls
2013_07_16_Frontend_translations_DK_EN.xls
2013_07_16_Frontend_translations_PL.xls

Rename mask:
[Y]_[M]_[D]_[N12-]

Result:
2013_07_16_Backend_translations_DK_EN.xls
2013_07_16_Backend_translations_PL.xls
2013_07_16_Frontend_translations_CZ.xls
2013_07_16_Frontend_translations_DK_EN.xls
2013_07_16_Frontend_translations_PL.xls
2013_09_20_Backend_translations_CZ.xls

I supposed to get all files with todays date.

Hmm, looks OK and works for me (TC v8.01) with dummy files.

2013_09_20_Backend_translations_CZ.xls
2013_09_20_Backend_translations_DK_EN.xls
2013_09_20_Backend_translations_PL.xls
2013_09_20_Frontend_translations_CZ.xls
2013_09_20_Frontend_translations_DK_EN.xls
2013_09_20_Frontend_translations_PL.xls

Perhaps something or someone others (colleagues?) have a handle on that file currently?

Try to copy the files first and then rename them then.

The "[YMD] Date" rename mask uses the filedate, not the system date.
You will need to installl an appropriate Plug-in to use current date in the rename mask.

Oh, of course :D

I had create the dummy files just today and so the date fit

That reminds me on this older thread with an solution:

MRT: TODAY Date - http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=18763

Or just use
2013_09_20_[N12-]

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
