file attributes in edit mode of file content comparison tool

Post by *HBB »

1) Compared two different files by contents, where both files having hidden attributes.
2) After view/edit tool is displayed, then switched to the edit mode.
3) When one of the files are edited and tried to save, a confirmation dialog asked to overwrite or not.
4) If yes is preferred, the edited file is saved but it lost the hidden attribute.

Because of the message in the confirmation dialog, this behavior seems intentional. But why?

Why does not TC keep the attributes of files after saving them?

Hm, it is interesting, haven't noticed that. Hidden and system attributes allow to save file so there is no need to overwrite, read-only attribute may be simply removed before saving. So I think TC should warn (as is) but then simply remove read-only attribute and save files as usual w/o overwriting.
