[Req] Addition to the F5 and F6 dialogs

Post by *JimW »

There's a feature in Double Commander that I find particularly useful, and I'm wondering if it could be added to TC. In essence, their dialog has buttons for each of the tabs open in the opposite panel, so if you want to copy/move a file to a different tab then the one that has the focus you merely click the button and the path changes. It looks like this...

I did check back through the threads from the past couple of months and didn't see a request like this one, so hopefully it's not a duplicate.

Maybe combobox (instead of editbox) containing target tabs would be enough?

That could work as well. Just some method of being able to select any tab from either panel as the target would be fine.

You can use drag&drop to the tab instead of F5 or dragging to the other panel.

True, but for those of us who use the keyboard almost exclusively that's not the ideal approach. Additionally, I have my copy of TC configured to have one panel

so it's much easier to just highlight the files I want to copy/move, hit F5/F6 and then select the tab I want them to go to. Once I got used to that feature in DC I found it indispensable. TC is my file manager of choice though, which is why I was hoping something like that could be implemented.
