How to use plugins

Post by *Cobras »

Hi, I downloaded several plugins TC. All were installed. But there is no instruction how to use them. For example, Exif and DiskDir plugins.
Please tell me how.

Read the textfiles inside of your downloaded archives.
If questions are still left ask here again.

exif.wdx is a content plugin. It can be used in these places:
1. Commands - Search on the third page, e.g. to find images with a certain resolution, iso number etc.
2. View - Custom columns: It allows you to define columns of your choice for the normal file lists
3. Configuration - options - thumbnails: Here you can define fields (e.g. the resolution) to be shown under the thumbnails
4. Configuration - options - display - "+" button: Allows to define hints (tooltips) when hovering with the mouse over an image.
5. Multi-rename tool

Diskdir is a packer plugin - it's used in Files - Pack files (Alt+F5), and creates a text file with the name and attributes of the files which can be browsed like an archive. I use this for example as a list of files on my external USB backup harddisk (which is normally not connected).

Installing and using plugins in TC idumbed s not for the uninitiated. Not that everything needs to be dumbed-down but I wonder if there’s a way to make using them more intuitive for everyone’s benefit!

Cobras, ever seen "RTFM"?
Just in case you didn't you might want to google "acronym RTFM".

No offense, though :)
