+[TC8.50b15]Define color by file type:quotes are removed

Post by *white »

* Go to Define colors by file type
* Do not define a search but enter a mask including double quotes at the beginning and end. For example: "* *"
The quotes are removed when the Define colors by file type dialog is closed.

Tested using TC8.50b15 32bit and TC8.01 32bit.

This is caused by Windows. Just surround them again with quotes:
""* *""

Not the user's problem, but the programmer's problem. You fixed it for the Search for field in Search. Why not here?

Unfortunately there are just too many locations where this can happen to find them all. If you report one per week, you could delay the release of TC 8.5 final forever.

I don't understand. Can't you decide to release TC 8.5 and fix it later if you want to?

BTW. A user stumbled upon this while using TC (see link in first post). If such messages of users appear every week you probably should fix it as soon as possible.

HISTORY.TXT wrote:17.01.14 Fixed: Surrounding double quotes (e.g. "* *") not saved in the following places: Custom colors, wildcards in sync when saving settings, menu "Show" - "Custom", Find files (save parameters), Print margins dialog (header text) (32/64)
Tested OK using TC8.50rc1 32bit (all cases).

Thanks! Btw, I have tried to find all locations by searching in the code for the used function, but it's still possible that I missed one...
