Trying to prepare a comfortable environment to have crypted contents in DropBox (DB), I've just installed on my WinXP the Dokan Library (DokanInstall_0.6.0.exe) and extracted the encfs4win package (http://members.ferrara.linux.it/freddy77/encfs.html).
For working, I mount my encrypted dir (which is within the DB dir tree) to a virtual Drive H:. That way, I can, for example, edit plain files in H: with a text editor and they are happily updated to their correspondent crypted file when they are updated (by saving) from my editor (actually, also, they are updated to the plain dir when the are changed in the crypted dir).
However, when I try to View the files in H: from TC (F3) or to Edit them (F4), I get a rejection TC window saying "access denied to the file..." .
I can copy (F5) files to H: (which are automatically created in the crypted dir) and I can copy files from H: to the outside, as long as they are files which I haven't tried to View with F3. If I copy a dir (ex, H:\D1\) to the outside, the files inside D1 wich I haven't tried to View are copied, but for each file inside D1 which I've tried to View, I get a rejection TC window ("Error, can't read <filePath>"). I need to re-mount the crypted dir to regain copy ability for them.
Anyone has any idea of what is happening and how to solve it?
If it could be useful, I could send the debug text generated by encFs (mounting with "encfs -v -f ...") during the process.
I think this (encfs4win) could be a convenient way of working with DB (and similar cloud storage services), and the solution would be useful for many of us, TC users. I've seen other similar alternatives, but I think encFs has the main advantage of being multiplatform (linux, windows, android).

It sounds like the virtual drive does not support all file system functions. Lister needs to have full seekable file access to display files. Copying just needs linear reading of the file.
