How to Display Windows Default File Icons?

Post by *halco »

I'm running Win 8.1. I have a program called FileTypesMan that allows you change the default icons for any file extension in Windows. These icons show up in Windows File Explorer but they do not in Total Commander. How can I make TC use these default icons? Thanks!

Try using a different tool. TC uses the icon settings from the registry, but apparently this tool doesn't follow the standard ways to do this.

You can change icons in TC itself: Files - Associatie with - Edit type - Change icon.

Doesn`t work with archive files.
Even better it will be: to display native icons from Windows OS, where i can change icon association with different soft!
