Adjusting Cursor Position after returning to parent director

Post by *dekiblue »

Let's say you have a folder that contains a lot of subfolders. If I have to individually review a bunch of those folders the problem for me starts as soon as window scrolls a bit down; even if the folder I enter is somewhere in the middle of the screen after I get back to parent folder the screen scrolls up and the cursor gets positioned on the folder I just exited exactly 3 folders from the bottom. I want to be able to see more that 3 folders down.

I wish that I can configure the position of the screen after I go back to parent folder or that it always centers the folder I just visited.

Just in the old days of Norton Commander, you don't use a mouse. Using your keyboard and esspecially use the fastkeys to go to a folder, it's much quicker to run through your directory. Pressing Enter and Backspace beat your mouse every time.
I even think it's better for your arms and hands to use your keyboard more often and switch to your mouse when needed.
