View Images in current folder and all subfolders

Post by *raytc »

Maybe a question what already has been asked before but I can't find the anwers in this forum.

I was wondering if there is a way to view all images:
1) in current folder and all subfolders
2) in all subfolders

I've read something about Ctrl-B but that show only the files with certain file extensions within a folder.

Well, Ctrl+B should show files according to panel filter (reset filter: Show - All files), and then Ctrl+Shift+F1 should open thumbnail mode. Also there is a Ctrl+Shift+B which only shows files from selected files/folders.

Thank you for answering.

Maybe I did not explain myself very well.
What I tried to do is to view all images of all subdirectories in current folder (together with the images in current folder).

Thats what Ctrl-B does as MVV said.
So whats your problem with this ?

Maybe my Ctrl-B command is conflicting with some general command.
Using Ctrl-B in a folder (with subfolders containing images) does activate the window "Enter file types (e.g. *.doc;*.txt)"

When I enter "*.JPG" as filetype it does show only .jpg files but I still have to open the folders to see the images in the subdirectories.

Are you're using some third-party TC pack where all shortcuts are changed? By default Ctrl+B is assigned to Show - Branch View or cm_DirBranch. And, Ctrl+F12 is assigned to Show - Custom... (your 'enter file types' dialog).

@MVV,

I can't find it.
I removed all files in the plugin folder.
Ctrl+B is still assigned to Show - Custom - enter file types dialog

Do you know where I can find all shortcuts in TC?

Keys are assigned in main configuration file, its location may be known from About window. You can start TC with parameter /i=new.ini in order to test clean configuration.

Also Misc. configuration page allows reading and reassigning keys that were assigned by user.

No Ctrl-B in Misc. configuration.
No Ctrl-B in wincmd.ini
Started with empty wincdm.ini file --> Ctrl-B is still assigned to Show - Custom - enter file types dialog :)

Well, no problems. I will add a new hotkey for "cm_DirBranch" in misc. configuration

No Ctrl-B in wincmd.ini
It should be C+B string in Shortcuts section which may be in wincmd.ini directly or in some redirected ini if redirection is enabled (RedirectSection or AlternateUserIni keys).

Something is strange with your system. Even menu shows that Ctrl+B is for branch view.

What if you manually assign Ctrl+B to cm_DirBranch? :)

yes, sorry C+B
No C+B in my wincmd.

No redirect ini

I tried to assign cm_DirBranch? to Ctrl+B but it still opens
this Show - Custom - enter file types dialog :(

Then I assigned it to C-Alt-B and it worked.

ini file:
CA+B=cm_DirBranch
CS+B=cm_DirBranchSel
C+B=cm_DirBranch

CS+B and C+B still opens Show - Custom - enter file types dialog :(

Maybe there is a problem with your keyboard? Or some third-party application hooks Ctrl+B?

You can use the tool "Hotkey Explorer" from the following link:
http://hkcmdr.anymania.com/
Make sure to get the free "Hotkey Explorer", not the Hotkey Commander!

This tool shows you which hotkeys are reserved system-wide by other programs.

Thank you for your message.

This is a great tool.
During the last years I searched many times for such a tool.
It is a bit disturbing that it actives all the hotkeys when I open it.
I noted also that it doesn't show most "Reserved by" of system-wide hotkeys (may'be I did something wrong)
