How to prevent "Do you really want to delete ..."?

Do you really . . .

Fresh install of TC on new hard drive. How can I prevent "Do you really want to delete 15 selected files and directories"? I have turned off all prompts I could find in configuration. This wasn't happening in my previous setup.

You can switch to Explorer delete mode (Configuration - Copy/Delete) and only Explorer confirmations will be shown (which may be disabled in Recycle Bin properties).

BTW I prefer additional confirmation before such harmful operation...

Thank you for the reminder. I believe it's pretty safe; after highlighting all those files I'd be confident.

I don't recommend that. Instead, do the following:
1. Turn off Explorer delete mode
2. To wincmd.ini add the line
VistaDelete=1
under [Configuration]
3. Make sure the recycle bin is enabled, and delete confirmations are off.

Thanks for the advice. I made the change to Wincmd.ini and adjusted the settings in TC. However, User Account Control, which I recently turned on, is interfering with saving the revised file. It demands that I remove protection on the file. There is no protection. I'm going to turn UAC off again and retry. (I made a separate thread for that problem.)

You have the wincmd.ini in a protected directory like c:\windows, or under "Program files". You have two options:
1. Press Alt+Enter on wincmd.ini and give user "everyone" "full control" over the file, or
2. Re-install TC (choose normal install, not update) and set the ini location to "Documents and settings".

I copied the entire directory from Program Files to a new location: "Progs". After editing the shortcuts it worked fine. I was not aware that Program Files was a protected directory. In the future I'll install all programs to Progs and avoid the hassle.

It's up to you of course, but consider a situation when you accidently hit DEL/F8 key.

I also believe that configuration should allow user to disable DEL key (I did it by remapping it to 'reread source' function, but there should be dedicated checkbox for this). Deleting can be really harmfull, so it is silly that this is the only function which, by default, is available on two different keyboard keys.

And another thing: "No" button should be default in confirmation dialog, because it is really possible to hit DEL and ENTER/Space afterwords.
