Hotkey allowed for mouse buttons or extra keyboard keys

Post by *SkipR »

Would you consider giving "Redefine Hotkeys" feature the ability to assign commands to extra mouse buttons or non standard keyboard keys, such as those found on multi-media keyboards? Most of the 3 button mouse drivers tend to be "dumb" and don't give you any flexibility of assigning actions to buttons. It is left to applications to implement overrides.

I was thinking about middle mouse button in particular. Using the middle mouse button on a tab closes the tab and that is fine this is a common behavior in quite a few applications. I have seen in browser applications a feature where middle button on top of directory scroll area causes jump to top of list (equivalent to HOME key action) and middle button on bottom of directory scroll area causes jump to end of list (equivalent to END key).

Middle mouse button in the directory listing currently goes into scroll mode. Is it possible to assign middle mouse button to a action such as "cm_GotoPreviousDir (Go back)" ?
