Is this Sticky Tab/Pin Tab function useful?

When you have 3/4/5 or more rows tabs in TC panel, you click a tab in other row to have a look temporarily, and you want to get back to this important previous tab immediately, you are always not easy to know where to find this previous tab.

In firefox, when you have some important tabs, you can stick them or pin them, and these tabs will stay in the top-left of tabbar, you can easily find them whatever happens because they always stay in that top-left position and in that sequence, so if TC has this Sticky Tab (or call it Pin Tab) function, will this be useful for TC users?

Why not using directory hotlist (Ctrl+D or asterisk buttons in path bars)?

Also, you can configure TC to always create new tabs at the right end of tabs bar, so your locked tabs will keep their positions. You can do it on Folder Tabs configuration page.

As I see, it would be better for you to be able to switch tabs in history order. You can't switch tabs in such order now but you can use folder history to get back to a previous location, even if it is from another tab: just press Alt+Left.

Hotlist can be an acceptable solution, but when you have lots of hot directories, your hotlist menu will become very huge, sometimes you have to use second level sub directory, even third level sub directory, to push them all inside, so it's not fast as when it just stays in tab bar.

I tried to reduce my tab bar to only 3 rows, so it will be easier to find right tab. But even so, I still have over 15 tabs which have asterisks...
And, the other panel has the same situation.

When you have tens of tabs, this option may not be a good choice.

Actually, it's not only the problem about tab history. I just remembered, years before someone asked me a similar question: if it had any option to forbid the roll of tabbar's row? I had to tell him: NO!

For important, frequently accessed tabs, I just lock them then drag them to the leftmost position. I know how it would be difficult if one had lots and lots of tabs open.

I seldom have lots of tabs on both panels but I can see the advantage of pinning a tab, where it would always stay on the left most position.

Glad to see the new features news from Mr. Ghisler, the TC's original Tab Header Color and Tab Header Icon are really very exciting new features, they will largely solve this thread's problem. Thanks for Mr. Ghisler's great efforts and understanding, hope to see the beta version soon.

Maybe I gave an improper example in previous post, a better example should be as below:
You have a 6000 pictures library, you need to organize/sort and move them to 8 different folders: Cat, Dog, Child, Man, Woman, Grass, Sky, Plane. So you need to continually switch among these 8 tabs in TC's target panel, in this situation, the Alt+Left is not a proper solution.

For important, frequently accessed tabs, I just lock them then drag them to the leftmost position.

Many thanks, it's a good tip, I almost forget this feature. Dragging all your tabs together will decrease this thread's problem much. Only 3 tiny inconveniences left:
1, When want to drag a tab, you click left mouse button down (and before button up), TC will switch to that tab immediately, sometimes you need to wait and wait, such as the time when that tab just in thumbnails mode.
2, Sometimes some tabs will be split to 2 rows, you need to calculate and drag carefully again to keep all tabs in one row.
3, Drag tabs inside one row, the result is ok. Drag tab from active row to inactive row, also ok. But drag tab from inactive row to other rows, you will get a weird result, you will lost one tab and get two same tabs. I am still trying to understand the logic here...
