Column Size: EXT and SIZE

Post by *cloggy »

The SIZE column will always overlap in the EXT column unless this column is wide enough.
Looks like the SIZE column has the end of the name of the file in the center of the column.

This is something like feature in my eyes and I like it. Sometimes you have very long extension, e.g. ".original", and sometimes you have really big file, >10 000 000 000, so you need Ext column with proper width for it and at the same time you want Size column not to be so big-wide (because common files do not have size with so much digits). Solution is Ext column with exactly right width for your longest extension, while Size column is big enough for most common sizes (in bytes in my TC). A situation where you have a really large file with a very long extension is rare. In that situation will be extension shortened (in my example to ".origin..").

The best solution:
1. format C:
2. install TotalCmd
3. install Windows (optionally)

I get what you mean, but in your example the end of the size is flush with the border of the column.
Not in my example.. It lines up with the middle of the column..

You can create custom column include the standard fields Size, Date and Attr.

The Size column in custom column behave different, the number is aligned with right border

Just expand the ext column and make the size column narrower.
