Icons are stored at WCMICONS.DLL.
You may define your own drive icons by adding the line "drivelib=%COMMANDER_PATH%\My_drivebmp.dll" to wincmd.ini file, section [Configuration]

Huh? The icons haven't changed between TC 7.50 and 8.5x.

So, you're using TC from portableapps.com. Well, that's a different story, I think. There's no need to use any third party tool to make TC portable, it's all in TC itself.

And, as I said: the icons haven't changed for quite a long time. Maybe the thing from portableapps.com uses some different icon set instead of the stock icons?

Maybe you could provide a screenshot of the icons YOU see, because as Dalai writes - they have not been changed between TC 7.50 and 8.5x

Just use normal TC and set UseIniInProgramDir=7 in your wincmd.ini. There are a lot of threads about this topic in the forums (and perhaps in the TC wiki).

Regarding screenshots: Upload the picture to your favorite picture host and link to it here. If the forum complains: cut the "http://www." part from the URL.

Download the TC setup and just unpack it to a directory of your choice. Unpack the install.cab to the same directory. Create a wincmd.ini in that directory. Next, edit this file and set the option I mentioned above in the [Configuration] section (there's more info on this option in the TC help, section 4.b); wincmd.ini uses normal INI syntax. Now you can launch that TC instance and set the options you want, install plugins and so on, in other words: customize it to your needs. When finished, copy the directory to the target, like USB flash drive, network drive, external hard drive or any other location you see fit.
