Ctrl+B in search result - discards results tab
Nice, but it discards the search results tab. Ctrl+Shift+B open new tab in opposite pane and go to directory???
Workaround, lock the search results.

Ctrl+B is branch view. It will leave the search result in the directory of the file under the cursor, the same way as it leaves branch view.

I use Branch View allot but that didn't cross my mind when I was reading the release notes.
I just saw the new Ctrl+B feature from Search Results and thought that was cool so I tried it right away.
That's when I wished it would leave the results intact but open another tab somewhere else (opposite side preferred) representing the directory of the file under the cursor.

What about Ctrl+Up? However it only works for directories (opens them in new tabs).
Also you can bind to any hotkey em-command like this for jumping to a focused item in new tab:
Regarding Ctrl+B feature: I've missed that it was made specially, perhaps it is ok in such case.

Code: Select all
Command: %COMMANDER_EXE%
Parameters: /O /S /T /L=%P%N

17.01.16 Added: Ctrl+B in search result now works like Ctrl+B while in branch view: Go to directory of file under cursor (32/64)
Multiple things going on here. I'd never thought of firing Ctrl+B a 2nd time while in a branch view. Turns out that's something I always wanted but didn't know I needed it. Perfect for hunting for a file in a huge branch then landing yourself in the folder where it resides with the 2nd Ctrl+B. Cool.
As for the other use of it (in Search Results, not a Branch View) - I thought that was new in v9 - since I first learned of it here: http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=44181
So in testing that I wanted Ctrl+B to open the folder belonging to the file under the cursor in a separate tab on the opposite side - instead of opening it in the current view and closing the search results.
Thanks for the tip on Ctrl+Up while in the search results. Turns out Ctrl+Shift+Up will (from the search results and perhaps everywhere else) open the folder containing the file under the cursor in a new tab on the opposite side. NOW. If I could just get it to automatically switch to that tab!
Maybe a generic option exists that says display (not necessarily "focus") any newly opened tab. So anytime one of the many ways to open a tab is fired, that tab can come into view.

You can use Ctrl+Left or Ctrl+Right to open the folder that contains the file or folder under the cursor in the opposite panel also from Branch view and Search results.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
