List files in cutom zipped file (sdlptx) in packer

Post by *globaltextware »

We use Total Commander for all our employees. Since the upgrade to Windows 10, some people have problems with the packer function with sdlptx files which are zipped Trados Studio Files.

We use the function "Handle archives as directories". So when we use the keys Ctrl+ <- we're able to list all the files in a zip file, this worked for sdlptx files to, but since the upgrade to Windows 10. It's not working anymore.

When we do a clean install from Windows 10, it's working but not at the computers whioch are upgrade from WIndows 7 or 8. Is there a way to fix this? Re-installing Trados Studio doesn't work...:(

Hi,

Does the same occurs with standard zip file (in same folder) ?

Does TC enter inside the "custom zip file" and do not list anything or just ignore it ?

Have you tried with an alternate plugin 7zip or total7zip ? (registering sdlptx etension ).

Did you checked permission and temporary folder used by TC ? You can try to launch TC as Administrator to check if it is a user limitation.

Ctrl+Arrow only opens a file as ZIP now if ENTER would do the same. So if the .sdlptx file is associated with a program, Ctrl+Arrow would not open the content. This was done so Ctrl+Arrow would not open .docx and .xlsx as zip.

Ctrl+PageDown still opens them as ZIP, but in the same panel.

There is an option CtrlArrowOpenArchive in wincmd.ini which you can set. The default value is 5.

It controls whether Ctrl+Left/Right arrow opens archives as folders or not:
0: never
1: if ENTER would open the archive as a folder
2: always, except when [Packer] ZIPlikeDirectory=0
3: always
4: (added) put cursor on file if not opened.

So try setting it to 3 (always open).
