Hi!
recently I with big surprise notice that default home folder C:\TotalCmd
is not a default folder for holding of all configuration *.ini, *.xml, ... files.
As from totalcmd itself so and from all installed plugins.
Now such folder is: "%APPDATA%\GHISLER"
questions:
1. when such behavior was changed? v.8.52 shows old and desirable behavior.
2. how revert old behavior back? Only one path: C:\TotalCmd should be used for locating
all conf.files like fsplugin.ini lsplugin.ini sftpplug.ini wcx_ftp.ini Wincmd.ini Total7zip.xml and etc...
P.S. I notice also that initial and default path for Total7zip.xml conf.file was
c:\TotalCmd\Plugins\WCX\total7zip\Total7zip.xml
but now this file will be used by plugin only if I will place it at "%APPDATA%\GHISLER" folder.
So is it a desitrable behavior? imho NO. only local folders for plugins should be used for holding all conf.files.
Local like: c:\TotalCmd\Plugins\WCX\total7zip\
and does it mean that now I should copy ALL conf.files from plugins home dirs into single "%APPDATA%\GHISLER"?

Hi AntonDudarenko,
a) use inireloc
b) reinstall TC and set the options in the installer to your liking
c) add [Configuration] - UseIniInProgramDir=7 into your wincmd.ini

18.01.09 Added: Windows NT-based systems, Installer: When no wincmd.ini location is set in registry, set it to %APPDATA%\GHISLER\wincmd.ini and store in registry

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
huge thanks!
but this old change "22.01.09 Release Total Commander 7.50 Beta 7"
means only that something was broken at new installers of betas/RCs
because I never changed something related to homefolder of all conf.files.
As I remember: as I installed TC at first time when I have used folder C:\TotalCmd
as a root folder (it's your b) bullet) for the fresh installation of TC v8.52a - so after that
it never changed.
All last 7 betas and RCs i installed as-is over already installed TC at C:\TotalCmd.
also there is no UseIniInProgramDir in my wincmd.ini
should I add it for preventing similar undesirable cases?

from the help file:
So if you use UseIniInProgramDir=7 (7=1+2+4)) then all other settings except for command line parameter is ignored and TC will always use it's program dir for ini-files.UseIniInProgramDir=0 This variable will only be read if the wincmd.ini is located in the same dir as the program. It must be put in wincmd.ini directly, RedirectSection has no effect on this variable.
It is the sum of the following values:
1: Use wincmd.ini in program dir if no other location is set via registry or parameters
2: Use wcx_ftp.ini in program dir if no other location is set via registry or parameters
4: Override registry settings (but not command line parameters)
