A way to do this is:

Place cursor on a folder and press Ctrl + Shift + Up.

But the new tab will open on the other panel.
I Love Total Commander!

I would like to do this without using keyboard shortcuts. I would like to open a folder in a new tab, just by clicking on it. I do not want to open a folder in a new panel just in the same panel but in a new tab.

Make a button with the command cm_OpenDirInNewTab
Windows 11 Home, Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.4351)
TC 11.55 RC7 x64 / x86
Everything 1.5.0.1396a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.5.5.0, Listary Pro 6.3.2.88
QAP 11.9.0.6 x64

I know the solutions based with keyboard shortcuts:

Code: Select all

CTRL+UP Open dir under cursor in new tab
and with a button command:

Code: Select all

cm_OpenDirInNewTab
I was thinking about something else. I click twice on the folder icon and the folder opens in a new tab.

Try this:

Make sure, that the Tab-Bar is shown, if you have a lot of open tabs, scroll to the very left to find some empty space, drag the desired folder from the pane onto the empty space on the Tab-Bar (either the same or the other panel).

Cheers
