Creating 7zip files with TC7Z.DLL and TC7Z64.DLL

Post by *lzvk25 »

For years I have used the different plugins (7zip and Total7zip) to create 7zip files, I even found a funny way to update Total7zip and I think it works.

But now that this new version of TC has TC7Z.DLL and TC7Z64.DLL, I wonder if it is possible to pack and unpack 7zip files without third party plugins ?

If so, how ? The packer still looks like the old 8.52a version and the help file doesn't offer much help in that regard.

So, can anybody give me more information about what to expect ?

Thank You

You can only unpack in 7zip format without plugins.
Total7zip plugin can unpack and also pack much more formats.

I don't see any need for funny ways to update Total7zip :D
I just update the 7zip installation and through the plugins config
the actual version is always used by the Total7zip plugin.
Windows 11 Home, Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.4351)
TC 11.55 RC7 x64 / x86
Everything 1.5.0.1396a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.5.5.0, Listary Pro 6.3.2.88
QAP 11.9.0.6 x64

Always good to have native .7z support on TC..
.7z being open-source..

May be .dll updates shud keep things Ticking for if new .7z updates releases..

This 3rd party plugins fails to do task properly at times.. when dealing with lots of file to the tune of 3000+ file to be 7z with plugin.. (I had problems creating large 7z files in demo release of TC atleast - donot know about full version hopefully it shud be working )

So for bunch of files, Switch back to the Original archiver 7z from 7-zip.org
