I have an issue that I don't fully understand...
1. I am running a site, based on Plesk if this matters. The structure of the site is like this
siteroot
-> subsite1
-> subsite2
-> subsiet3
2. I have an ftp user that until recently had had access to siteroot and all of the subsites. Everything worked fine in TC - in particular I was able to see the contents of the siteroot.
3. A few days ago - something strange happened. I was working normally, browsing files and directories, also deleting single files. I must have pressed / clicked on something - and since then I am unable to see the siteroot content. The ftp communication log shown by TC indicates the Error 550 - Permission Denied.
I am pretty sure that the action was not complex - a single click, or key press.
I am able to navigate to any of the subsites manually (by entering cd /subsite in the TC command line), and I am able to navigate the subsite normally. It's only the problem with the siteroot.
I am also pretty sure that no permissions on the siteroot level have been changed on the Plesk/OS level. No known changes in permissions for the ftp users, neither. The ftp is handled by proftpd.
I have a feeling that the problem is related to something I did in TC. Like accidentally revoking the ftp access to the siteroot.
Do you have _any_ idea on what it may have been ? and how to fix it ?
Thank you!
(btw, eveything happened on 8.52, but 9.0 didn't help. I also tried FileZilla, with similar results. So I guess it is not an issue with TC...)

It means that the ftp user (the one you use to log into your account) does not have read rights to the directory you are trying to access. You will need to change the permissions (chmod) of that location.
