Problems with fonts on a 4K display

I use a 49" 4K (3840X2160) TV as my monitor. I absolutely love it. I have no idea how many other people use 4K TV as monitors so I don't have any idea how many people are effected.
I have a few problems with font size in requestors etc. No big deal but it would be nice if someone could have a look at this
I have set all the amendable fonts to 20. But still have a few niggles.
If someone is interested I can do a proper test (rather than just notice a few things as I use TC)....

I don't think that too much people use 4K TVs as monitors too, so screenshots would be appreciated.

I'm sorry but I can't see any way to attach images to this reply

1. Select a few files and click on the Multi Rename Tool and you'll get a requestor with text overwriting boxes.
2. Copy a file from the right panel to the left panel, ditto.
3. Pack some files (zip), ditto
4. Move/Rename some files, ditto

Basically any action that throws up a requestor will cause the font to overflow boxes....

I can't tell if the problem is my 4K TV/monitor or if I have selected font size of 20?

I'll try creating a new topic and see if I can attach my snapshots?

Edit: I tried posting a new topic AND posting a Bug Report but neither allowed me to attach snapshots

I post on about 30 different forums and NONE of them have such a complex, long drawn method/process to post a picture. Other forums handle posting/attaching an image internally within the forums....

I've described the errors and how to recreate them. That'll do for me

As all of these elements are dialogs you should set your dialog font size to default. Instead try setting your dialog box scale to 250% in the same dialog.

Like I said, I set every font setting to 20 because of my 4K TV/monitor.

I played with the DPI settings but, apart from making the whole requestor (Dialog?) larger, some letters were still being cut off about 2/3s of the text.

The ONLY solution was to reduce the Dialog font to 14. This fixed the cut offs and the text displayed in whole. I can live with this.

The question is why can't the dialog font be more than 14 and fit without cut offs?

Not perfect but acceptable....

I always thought TC was handling high DPI really badly. However, after reading High DPI Scaling Improvements for Desktop Applications and “Mixed Mode” DPI Scaling in the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, I no longer wonder why. The whole API support is a mess. But it looks like Lazarus 1.8 should contain some support for it. So maybe the next version of TC could include such improvements?
