Hi When I use total commander it seems to unpack the files in a random order.
I wonder if i am missing a setting or something.

Incorrect order when unpacking files

TC unpacks the files in the order they are packed in the archive. This is especially true for solid archives that contain only one stream of data, not one stream for each file. BTW: Which archive type(s) are we talking about?

You can see that order by opening the archive an then pressing Ctrl+F7
