Great!!! :D
Thank you very much for your patience and help!
What about Russian text - yes, you are right. I've begun debugging Russian version and found it only after several variants were ready, and I decided not to switch to English, so that I could compare different debug versions easily, without Russian-English text differences.
I'll write soon the version 1.51 (it will take some time to update all info's) and put it on site. Just wait a little :)

Link style

:) Hi Stefan !
• The "over" reading of links here keeps the underline.
* So, impossible to know if there is either a space or an underscore between Info and 1.51…
* Ch. Ghisler might change that in the Forum style-sheet, it's easy and needs 1 minute :

Code: Select all

A.link-class-name:hover {color: red; text-decoration: none; }
- Isn't the problem here, but it's often confusing…

Though you're right I always paste the link to prevent type errors.

Oh, my greatest sorry! :) The old site version had the Products folder, the new one has it renamed to Programs... I'll edit my post now.

Here are two requests for your nice plugin. The first one is just one small optical optimization:
Use the standard font. It should work somehow like this:

Code: Select all

SendMessage (hWnd, WM_SETFONT, (WPARAM)GetStockObject(DEFAULT_GUI_FONT), 0);
You'll have to do some text alignments after applying this.

The second one could probably cause some more work. It would be nice if you make use of the IShellLinkDataList interface. It features some more attributes like run as a different user and some more.

Thank you in advance!

Thank you for requests! Second have already been in my wish-list, I've added the first one into it. But the next version will hardly appear in the near future, 'cause I'm too busy now... :(

2Flint:
Note: you set in default DetectString: force | (ext="LNK")
You should add also: | ext="PIF"
because plugin works with .pif files too..

Thank you for the information, I've not even tested the plugin with PIFs :)
I'll put the new detection string in the next version.

LinkInfo notes

Post by *Alextp »

Note2: you display link icon in Lister. Can you display all icons(from .exe/dll) with border around active icon:
Icon1 Icon2 [Icon3] Icon4...

- Have your LinkEditor.exe all options that have standard Explorer editor?
- I want to call standard editor from your LinkInfo/LinkEditor. maybe you should set option in LinkInfo: [x] Call standard editor?

- LinkEditor have too small window by default, less than in Explorer..

Regards,

Sorry for long delay.
Can you display all icons(from .exe/dll) with border around active icon:
Icon1 Icon2 [Icon3] Icon4...
And what if the file has VERY many icons? For example, shell32.dll in WinXP. It contains 237 icons. First, there is no place to draw all these icons. Second - it will take quite long time to load all the images.
Have your LinkEditor.exe all options that have standard Explorer editor?
Not all, but many of them. I hope, in next version they will appear (properties like "Run As" and so on.
I want to call standard editor from your LinkInfo/LinkEditor. maybe you should set option in LinkInfo: [x] Call standard editor?
In LinkInfo it can be added easily (I hope) as context-menu command. But what about LinkEditor? I can't imagine useful interface for it... :( Maybe, additional button? But will it be useful?
LinkEditor have too small window by default, less than in Explorer..
This is because in my dialog controls are places more compactly than in system dialog. It saves its size, so you can set it the first time and use it always with the size, you like best.
