Copying files bigger than 12780 M and progress bar

Post by *Tom.Funke »

if i want to copy a file bigger than 12780 M the progress bar and the counter in the lower right corner are incongruent. the progress bar is on 50 % (that is correct), but the counter is on 12.780.0 M / 12.780.0 M.
it takes another 50 % until the file is copied totally, the counters don't change anymore.

What are your settings under
Configuration -> Options.. -> Operation -> Copy/Delete:
[?] Verify after copying (MD5 checksum)

Indeed it sounds like you have the verify option enabled.

what's wrong
Nothing.

But verifying adds a second task to the copy operation (and nearly doubles the time you need to make a copy).
After the copy is done (0-50%;0-12780 M/12780 M copied), the copied file (destination file) must be read again to verify that the checksum of the destination file is the same as the checksum of the source file (which was calculated during the first 50% of the progress).

Please notice the information shown inside the copy dialog:
Instead of

Code: Select all

From: <source path>
To: <destination path>
you will see

Code: Select all

Verifying
To: <destination path>
during the verification process.

Holger

Yes, it's at 50% when copying is done, because the verify step then goes from 50% to 100%. The size is 12.780.0 M / 12.780.0 M because all the bytes have been copied.
