print and multi rename questions
Hi,
I don't know how to:
1) Print multiple file at the same time.
(for example: in win explorer, you can select all files, press right mouse and select print from menu popup).
2) Delete the "vn", which is located in the end of the names of alot of files a lot of file with different length. For example:
***********vn.xls
****vn.xls
****************vn.xls
*******vn.xls
Thanks for support

Hi suse,
to 1) It is no problem to print multiple files at the same time! You select those files you want to print and afterwards you can print them via the context-menu. Maybe you have chosen the option, that you mark a file with the right mouse-click. If you want to get the context-menu, you can press Shift+F10 or you must hold the right-click for a longer time. Now you can choose "Print". The files will be printed with the associated program.
to 2) I don't know, if there is a better way for this, but I would do this with the multi-rename-tool. Within the first field (I don't know the name in english) you enter [N-200-3] and keep the rest of the fields like standard. Now press start. This should do it. Maybe there is a smarter way for this parameter, but this works (for a maximum length of 200; otherwise you must increase this number).
Look in the user-manual (multi-rename...) before you manipulate sensible data!
Best regards,
Marc

Re: print and multi rename questions
Like klark already said you should use the multi-rename tool, but with one difference. Instead of messing with the name filed, enter "vn" in the 'search for' field and leave the 'replace with' field blank. This will erase all the vn text from your files.suse wrote:2) Delete the "vn", which is located in the end of the names of alot of files a lot of file with different length. For example:

But be careful, 'cause if you got "vn" also inside of the file names, not just at the end, it will be erased also. Then you should use what klark said.

2) Delete the "vn", which is located in the end of the names of alot of files a lot of file with different length. For example:
***********vn.xls
****vn.xls
****************vn.xls
*******vn.xls
Try this:
1st step: find 'xn.xls'
2nd step: replace with '.xls'
Have a nice day
***********vn.xls
****vn.xls
****************vn.xls
*******vn.xls
Try this:
1st step: find 'xn.xls'
2nd step: replace with '.xls'
Have a nice day
My Best Wishes,

BE VERY CAREFUL!
Any ocurrance of 'vn' will be replace.
See below another method. It's sure 100%.

You just got to experiment (you always have the undo button).
