Quick view: any support for PDFs?

Post by *Andante »

Do any of the releases have Quick view support for PDFs? I would like to click a PDF on one side and see its contents on the other side. Thanks!

What you need is not "release" but so called "lister plugin" (viewer plugin)
There are many threads about it. eg.

Thank you so much, Gral, this was very helpful!

I'm not familiar with many of these terms. Is "Lister" the name for the Quick View window? Also, what does "Sumatra" mean?

I went through all of those links, plus many others. Several were no longer working, but I did manage to find and download these files:

• activepdfview_1.0.zip
• sLister 1.1.2.zip
• wdx_xpdfsearch.zip
• wlx_sumatrapdf_0.8.1.zip
• wlx_uLister_4.0.0.zip

Which do you feel is the simplest and best for viewing PDF files in the Quick View window?

Thanks again for your help. :-)

Lister is internal preview window which you can call with the F3 key.
Lister and QuickView share the same viewer plugins - lister plugins.
You can search and download TC plugins on official site http://www.ghisler.com/plugins.htm
and on http://www.totalcmd.net/ - probably largest unofficial site for TC plugins and addons.
For PDFs try also pdfview.wlx - https://www.mp3tag.de/tc.html
There is no one "best" solution, try what suits your needs.
As for me Sumatra works well, but i don't work with PDFs so much.
In most cases i use Sumatra standalone version.

Oh, I know what Lister is now, thanks.

I'm looking specifically for Quick View plugins. So I'll check the ones that don't have "Lister" in the name.

For what it's worth, I tried out every one, and decided that I like wlx_sumatrapdf_0.8.1 the best. So that's what I'll be using.

Thanks again, Gral. Appreciate your help. :-)

Andante,
I'm looking specifically for Quick View plugins. So I'll check the ones that don't have "Lister" in the name.
Quick view is basically Lister put over the other panel. Nothing more, nothing less. No need to look for "Quick View plugins".

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
