Some suggestions for your software (friendly)

Post by *E. Craig Scranton »

I suggest that you add a feature that will allow for changing the SIZE of the fonts used, and possibly "bold or normal".
I suggest that you add a option on your top task bar called "SORT", with a dropdown menu that has the following choices: 1. Size 2. Extension 3. Created Date
I suggest that you add the choice of backgrounds (colors/four pastels would be enough + white default).
I suggest that your software allows for opening up more than just two panels of data up to a maximum of six or seven would be adequate. The reason being that when a person like me copies files to more than one directory at a time it would be a lot nicer. (for instance: more than just the two drives you now allow for, or expanding the directory trees in more than one directory.
I suggest that you somehow obtain a copy of a now defunct software that was the GREATEST for so many years called: XTreeGold (made in the USA).
I REQUEST to be on your BETA test team for future versions. I have been a BETA testor for leading companies now for over twenty-five years, and before that I was an applications specialist/trainer/Etc. for AT&T (The Old Bell System here in America). In those days we were the largest company, and employer of people in the world until the government split up everything into many smaller companies.

In menu select Configuration/Options/Layout/Font. You can set font for dialog box, file list and main window.

@E. Craig Scranton

Having read your message, I am wondering if it is really worthwhile answering it. Yet, as sometimes I am trying to be polite I will take the pain to do so, although if you had checked out the programme you would have noticed that your feature requests are met by TC.
I suggest that you add a feature that will allow for changing the SIZE of the fonts used, and possibly "bold or normal".
Ever had a look at the configuration dialog? If so you would have noticed that you can change the font as requested.
I suggest that you add a option on your top task bar called "SORT", with a dropdown menu that has the following choices: 1. Size 2. Extension 3. Created Date
Ever tried to click on column headers Name, Ext, Size or Date? Ever tried the key combinations Ctrl+F3 through to Ctrl+F7? If so you would have noticed that you have got different choices for sorting.
I suggest that you add the choice of backgrounds (colors/four pastels would be enough + white default).
Again, ever had a look at the configuration dialogue? You can change TC's background colour.
I suggest that your software allows for opening up more than just two panels of data [...]
Ever tried Ctrl+T? You would have noticed that it is possible to open multiple tabs in each of the two panels and that you can drag and drop files/directories from each tab to any othe tab.

Before writing all your feature requests, did you ever bother to have a look at TC at all or did you ever bother to have a glance at the online help?
I REQUEST to be on your BETA test team for future versions.
Well, as I am just a TC user, it is not up to me to decide on this request. You might like to contact Ch. Ghisler directly via e-mail.

Actually, what is your message really all about? Trying to find out how easy it is to annoy people in this forum and if they can be tricked into giving angry answers?

If you really
have been a BETA testor for leading companies now for over twenty-five years
I hope you checked out their products more thouroughly than you did check out TC. :!:

Kind regards,
Karlchen

:) Hi !
• Exists already :
Menu Configuration >>> Option >>> Color
- More with the feature : "Define colors by file-type"
I REQUEST to be on your BETA test team for future versions.
• You might send that request directly to the Author --> supportATghislerDOTcom
I suggest that your software allows for opening up more than just two panels of data up to a maximum of six or seven would be adequate.
• This issue is on discussion for a while… Please, check the topics and the Search engine, you'll find a lot of threads, polls, etc.

 Kind regards,
Claude

Hell, yes! ;)

How can someone bug test software which usually concerns stretching its limits and virtually applying all possible situations if even the most basic features are not known to him/her?

@E. Craig Scranton:
The features you propose either exist already (colors, fonts, sorting) or already have been made. More panels are a no-no for ghisler but there are tabs as an alternative and separate preview corners will be implemented *soon*, creation date will take somewhat longer probably...

I don't think that Ghisler will appreciate a request for becoming a beta tester if the candidate hasn't looked at TC for longer than two minutes till now. Beta testers should have the ability to give bug reports so they should know what application they are working with and what it is able to do right now at least.

If you are really interested (which I doubt) you should start with sharing your valuable experiences as the world's longest still living beta tester to the forum so maybe one day you will be elected.
